Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I create a Market?
At present, users cannot create Markets. To sell an item, place a listing in an existing Market. If we don't have a Market for your item, that means we haven't got around to creating one yet. We would like to hear your ideas, so please don't hesitate to Suggest a Market.
2. How do you pick Markets for creation?
For now, we are concentrating purely on Markets for concert tickets, sports tickets and other event tickets. We try to cover all possible events, but it's a big job, so we do have to prioritise by popularity.
3. How do you calculate the Market Price?
The Market Price is based on the latest sale price in the Market. If there have not been any sales yet, the Market Price is based on the Recommended Retail Price of the item.
4. Can I ask the buyer/seller questions?
Yes, you can ask questions on individual For Sale and Wanted listings using the Q&A function.
5. How can I list an item that doesn't exactly fit the Market description?
You can only list items that fit the Market description. However, our Markets are designed to cater for minor variations, such as: seat numbers, ticket types and any extra features you may have. You can list the unique features of your item in the Comments field when creating a For Sale or Wanted listing, as long as they do not contradict the Market description.
6. How can I list an item if MarketPrice does not have a Market for it?
If we do not have a Market for your item, then unfortunately we do not trade your item yet and you cannot list it right now. However, we would be glad to hear of your ideas, so don't hesitate to Suggest a Market.
7. What kinds of items can I list through MarketPrice?
You can list anything that we have a Market for. Right now we are concentrating on Markets for Concert tickets, Sporting tickets and other events tickets.
8. What happens if an event listed on MarketPrice is postponed, or the venue is changed?
The original Market will be cancelled and all users with outstanding listings and Offers will be informed. A new Market will be created to accomodate the newly-changed event.
9. What happens if an event listed on MarketPrice is cancelled?
You can get a refund from the original ticket issuer.
As with any trade forum, it is up to the buyer and seller to negotiate a guarantee or cancellation policy. If you do not see mention of a guarantee in the Listing Comments, then the seller probably does not offer one, but you are free to ask them about it using the Q&A function.
In the absence of a guarantee, whoever is holding the ticket at the time of cancellation is left with the ticket, which can be refunded from the original ticket issuer, e.g. Ticketek, Ticketmaster etc.
